Pictureplane - Thee Physical

I'm seriously on a synth-pop vibe right now and you'll find nothing different in listening to Pictureplane. Denver producer Travis Egedy, aka Pictureplane, released his sophmore album, Thee Physical, earlier this year. There's a hint of DnB, a touch of industrial, and all around some pretty bangin' beats. New Nicolas Jaar EP "darkside"

The 3 track EP out on Clown & Sunset today from Nicolas Jaar is appropriately named 'darkside'. My initial thoughts keep going back to Pink Floyd vibes.

Austra & Grimes @ The Croc 11.15.11

I was impressed that this show was nearly sold out before Grimes came on....and even more impressed that people were actually there to see Grimes. Nice job, Seattle! I haven't paid much attention to her even though I've been seeing the name around the blogosphere for quite some time. Everything I had briefly read was that she puts on a hellova show. Agreed. Girl's got some beats!

Absolutely kicking myself for skipping the show he did with Chad Valley at the Croc not too long ago after seeing this. However, I'm now inspired to make the trip to Iceland to be able to experience live sets such as this next year.
